So I have this camera with an auto-drive that lets me take lots of pictures, one after the other. I use that feature with abandon! I took so many pictures at the Beau Monde Australian Labradoodle Lunch from a couple of weeks ago that I lost track of some of the good ones. We have to hit the road early tomorrow. No time for messing around!
Again, a busy and fun day that we started with playtime on the beach, making new friends! A few pictures of today’s romp on the beach at Carmel.

Such a fun and busy day in Carmel. Too much going on to write much about it. Suffice it to say that there was lots of beach time in the morning, followed by a delicious lunch at a restaurant with the worst service ever! Thank goodness for the dogs to keep us amused! Then a serious vacation-style nap (hours and hours!) and then a fabulous dinner. Finally, a late night walk on the beach. Great day. A few pictures in no particular order prove it was a good day!
We piled the truck full of our stuff and the Doods and made our way out of town. We settled in for a nice drive up to Carmel with Sam and Luke in the back seat. I even dressed the guys up in special traveling gear… Continue reading
It’s a good question: How many Australian Labradoodles is too many? In my opinion, it’s hard to have enough Australian Labradoodles! But that might be my addiction talking. I would get a new puppy every year, if I could figure out a way to do that.
My husband must have known this was a distinct possibility because he looked me square in the eye the day we brought Luke home and said, “Just so you know, this is the last one.” If ever there was a devastatingly well-timed preemptive strike, that was it. Continue reading
Penny stayed the night with us last night. She’s Sam’s littermate and full sister (obviously) to both Sam and Luke. I love having her over and the Tres Doodles love being together. They play for hours on end! A few pictures to share before I head off to work!

It’s so important for the Doodles to be well socialized. Which is to say, they need to be exposed to lots of different situations and experiences. I do try to get them out to new things on a regular basis. This week we tried a couple of new things: crossing the creek on our mountain trek, and Zoom Room . We also went to a local airport: Cable Airport. This is a pretty fun thing to do! The Doods got to see planes coming in and taking off. Want to know how much drama was involved in that? Zero. These dogs are so sound, it amazes me. They watched the planes going in and out…seemed curious, but were much more interested in when we might be going on our walk. I really like that you can walk all over the airport ( stay off the runway, please!) and look at the hangars, planes and generally have a nice walk all the way around.
This is a great place to take your dogs if you want to expose them to loud and unusual experiences. But Cable Airport also has a cool coffee shop with outdoor seating so you can have breakfast or lunch and watch the planes.
I wasn’t able to get a shot of the Doodles inside a plane…but don’t think I’ve given up! I will post a picture of one or both of those dogs in someone’s plane at some point!!!
