[singlepic id=285 w=320 h=240 float=left]So… we went to the Doodle Romp in Malibu last August. It was a chance to hang out with a bunch of other doodle freaks and to contribute to a worthy cause.
While we were there we couldn’t believe our luck when we ran into some relatives of Sam and Luke, including beautiful Lilikoi. We had a great time getting to know each other and meeting the related doodles. Paul and Cheryl are lucky Lilikoi’s owners, and they are clearly over the moon for her. It’s easy to see why…she’s a sweet girl and such a beautiful pup!
From Paul:
[singlepic id=906 w=320 h=240 float=right]We had never seen or heard of Labradoodles before 2010. All it took was one look at some puppies on a website and we were hypnotized!
We did our homework, visited several breeders (some not so great), and decided on Beau Monde Labradoodles. Curtiss was very knowledgable, and made us feel comfortable with his pups right away!
[singlepic id=908 w=320 h=240 float=left]We were on a waiting list for a “Firefly” puppy for six months. When the litter arrived, we went to see the pups, and it just so happened that there was a puppy returned to Beau Monde from the Cherri Bear/Hank litter… Curtiss said…”I think you should see this puppy”.
As soon as we saw her there was no doubt that she was for us. Someone’s loss was certainly our gain… Lilikoi was a perfectly mannered and sweet-tempered girl right from the start… and very beautiful if I must say so myself!!!
[singlepic id=909 w=320 h=240 float=right]Lilikoi goes loves riding in the car with us… She likes to feel the wind blowing her golden locks with her head out the window…wants to say hello to every person in the world, she seems to be insulted when people don’t acknowledge her, loves kids… especially infants! She seems to be very curious about their smell.
We can’t go anywhere without causing a commotion… we get all the usual comments… “oh my God”, “what kind of dog is that?”,”she looks fake, looks like a toy, stuffed animal, she should be in movies… Where’d you get her?, she’s so beautiful, she’s so soft, she’s so smart”. It’s unbelievable that a girl in a dog suit can cause such commotion!!!
[singlepic id=907 w=320 h=240 float=left]She’s very intuitive, seems to know what we want… She’ll bring in the mail, take her toys out til she finds the one she wants, loves the pool, will chase a stick until exhausted, her best feature, is that she brings a smile to everyone’s face!
Lilikoi (Passion Fruit in Hawaiian) is a joy, no one can look upon her without smiling!!!
Agreed, Paul! She’s gorgeous and she makes me smile every time!
Thanks for sharing your lovely girl with us. 🙂

Lilikoi is gorgeous!
She really is. You should see her in person!
Thanks… Her birthday’s coming. 1 year old on April 18!
She is really something special… And she knows it!
Someone told me today that my dogs are spoiled. You know what I said? “So????”
Lilikoi is gorgeous. Can’t believe someone would return her, but I’m so glad she found you! She’s Carnac’s sister, and your experience with her is very similar to ours. Carnac is so insulted when people don’t acknowledge his magnificence (which doesn’t happen often). Wish her a happy birthday on the 18th from her big blonde brother!
These doodles are beautiful! Any “returners” are out of their ever-loving-minds. Oh, well. Better for the Doodle…and certainly for Lilikoi in this case. She’s loved to death, for sure. That Paul is nuts for his baby girl. 🙂
I personally could not return Holly. She is family. Not a dog !

Today is Lilikoi’s Birthday!
Hard to believe she is 1 year old…
Happy Birthday Lilikoi!! 🙂
