Bryce

Bryce Canyon

So Red Rock Canyon was on the way to Bryce. Next up: Bryce Canyon National Park!

I don’t know if you are aware of this, but the Utah state slogan is “Utah: Life Elevated”. The Bryce National Park is 8000 and 9000 foot elevations, and amazing views all around. I’ve just never seen anything like it. So beautiful, hard to describe, and the pictures don’t do it justice.

We went through the whole park and stopped in most of the “must see areas”. We took a lot of pictures, and I’ve got some of the ones I like the best in the gallery below.

While we were here, I wanted to be certain to get some landscape-oriented photos so I would have at least one additional to add to the rotating banners you see at the top of the screen. I did manage to get some, but the dogs were being so distracto, I actually got more missed/muffed shots than good shots. Thought you would like to see a couple of the outtakes.

Thanks Luke.

Oh, and I almost forgot to mention…I think we accidentally hiked illegally with the dogs here, but I’m not sure. We did ask a ranger if we could walk with the dogs from Bryce Point to Inspiration Point. I sort of think it was OK, but I’m sort of thinking it wasn’t. Anyway, we weren’t trying to get away with anything (that time, at least!)…at some point during our walk (really more of a hike) we started to think maaayyyybbeeee we weren’t supposed to be there with the dogs. Oh well… we got some good shots and we didn’t mess anything up!

Spread the joy!

  1. Wow, those are GORGEOUS photos! I have wanted to go to Bryce for such a long time. I actually do think that it’s completely a no dogs allowed place, unless they are in your car. Which is why we haven’t tried to hard to go. I could be wrong though. Either way, I’m sure your precious doodles didn’t do any harm. 🙂

  2. Hi Camilla!
It’s been a few days, so time for me to head on over to TwoNoodles.com for a photo update!
Bryce is really gorgeous. I recommend it as a destination. I’d love to spend a few days there just hiking around. As for taking dogs: you can have dogs on any of the paved areas. Just not in the wilderness hiking trails. I hope you go and take Darwin with you! 🙂
