Daily Dog: Gratuitous Cuteness

There is no good reason for all this cuteness. I saw the cuteness and took a picture of it. Now I’m just sharing. And bragging. These doodles are being both sweet and cute. Oh, and they are being fun. That’s not unusual, in case you haven’t noticed.

We went for a good hike this morning and did some photographic experiments. Well, I did the experiments. These guys got roped in as little as possible. They spent as much of their time sniffing, trotting around and chasing each other as they could. Posing for Mom only when absolutely necessary.

We are safely back inside, and I’m working away on another post on this decidedly fall day. This is exactly the kind of weather for hanging out inside, watching some football, snuggling with some dogs and doing some blogging. We’ll see if I get my project done. Sometimes I do and sometimes I don’t!

In the meantime, you are local and want to join us in our Doodle Day of Beauty, be sure to let us know!

Boys in Backpacks

All packed up and ready for an adventure.

Well, I am going to have to get off my duff and haul out the big camera. I’ve been doing these little out-and-about shots with my phone camera. They just aren’t cutting it in terms of the quality. But in terms of just cuteness, they’ll do in a pinch!

So here are the boys in their backpacks. How cute is that? Really! I got Sam used to his and enjoyed not having to schlep the doodles water on our hike. I decided to get a pack for Luke. He didn’t love his as much, but he’s getting used to it.

However, note to self: don’t make the dogs wear a backpack for a run in 90 degree heat. Duh! It’s been so hot here, and it was cooler today so I thought it was actually cool. I didn’t realize it was 90 degrees until we were all out there panting. What was I thinking? Actually, it’s not reasonable! So I soaked the boys down to take advantage of the breeze and cut our run short.
Still…so cute to see the boys in their gear. I love that!

Run for the hills!

I love to go hiking or running with the Doods in the morning. There really is nothing better. See that structure in the background? That’s three miles in from our starting point. It’s also where there were a group of admirers… They had to pose for pictures. Again. Poor doods.

So that was three miles in, and if my math is correct, that means three miles out. Six miles-ish. This was intended to wear them out. I was pretty sure I did a good job of that.
Here’s what they decided to do after the hike (and breakfast)… image

So…maybe not so worn out?

It Pays to Have Friends in Dood-ley Places

So I’ve changed the banner for the blog, which I intend to do as often as I get decent, landscape-oriented shots of the Dos Doods. I got some feedback that the photo wasn’t too great, but I thought it was just fine. But then I got the bright idea to call upon the expertise of my friends on the Doodle Kisses site, to see what they had to say about my photo.

I belong to a group there that focuses on photography…and there are some truly talented photogs from whom to learn. So I posted a request for help…and I got a lot of really great ideas. Even better, Camilla “couldn’t resist tinkering” and really fixed my flawed photo. Continue reading

Sunday’s Hike to Ice House Canyon Saddle–second round of pictures!

[singlepic id=821 w=320 h=240 float=left]For those of you who have been waiting, here’s the next batch of pictures from yesterday’s hike. I am still working away on them, so I’ll keep updating the gallery tonight until I run out of time or out of steam!

Now, whenever I get moment, I need to figure out a new place to hike! Baldy is fun and it’s accessible and close. But we need to get the Doods off to a new hiking place for a fun adventure. Not that we are not already having fun!

Enjoy the photos and let me know what you think!

Some Photo Fun From Today’s Hike

[singlepic id=812 w=320 h=240 float=left]It’s really, really late. I’ve been goofing around with Photoshop, watching TV, napping and generally trying to recover from today’s hike. I am going to have to work a little harder at being ready for these hikes. That translates to some targeted workouts! Whatever. In the meantime, I have a LOT of pictures to work on. Here’s the first wave. It’s just a few, but here we are.
