Well, hello everyone. Time certainly does fly on by. Today is Sam’s second birthday. In some ways it’s been so fast. In other ways, I can’t remember what it was like not to have him in my life.
I feel so lucky to have such a great dog. It probably sounds crazy, but referring to him as “a great dog” feels like I’m giving him short shrift…he seems much more like a person in our family than a dog.
We always call him “a man in a dog suit”. That’s more like it!
Happy Birthday, Sam. Here’s to another great year together…!

If you didn’t believe it before, this ought to convince you. Sam L.O.V.E.S. frisbee. He loves it. Crazy for it. We can’t say the word unless we are serious. Code is F-bee. Otherwise, he just gets his hopes up. I don’t like to hurt his feelings.
This is an example of the full-body commitment to his sport of choice. Except squirrel chasing, which still reigns supreme. That’s a shoulder-dislocating experience, I can assure you.
Here it is: A True Flying Leap.
I took this quick snap as we made our way home on our road trip in January. I stopped to let the Doods stretch their legs, and get a bit of sun. This is one of the photos I just got around to editing.
He’s a cute pup, if I do say so myself. It’s hard to believe he’s already almost a year old. Actually, he’s just shy of 11 months, at this point. How did that happen??
These past what, 9 months?, have gone by so quickly. And one thing we’ve settled on: Luke is a really cute dog, but it’s hard to appreciate this fully unless you see it in action for yourself. He’s just a sweet, little bear-puppy-clown.
As someone said recently, “his cuteness is in his eyes, and the way he looks at you”. Yup. That’s absolutely it. He does this thing where he looks at you and then turns his head a little, so he is looking out of the corners of his eyes. It’s just. so.cute. You can’t help but fall in love.
[singlepic id=880 w=420 h=340 float=center]I love doing these Doodle Spotlights! Today it is my pleasure to introduce Carnac and Siri! They are half-siblings, sharing the same father.
These are beautiful pups. Don’t they look perfect together? What a darling pair of doodles!
I don’t think I could tell the story of Carnac and Siri’s family nearly as well as their mom Tracy, so in her words: Continue reading
So I’ve changed the banner for the blog, which I intend to do as often as I get decent, landscape-oriented shots of the Dos Doods. I got some feedback that the photo wasn’t too great, but I thought it was just fine. But then I got the bright idea to call upon the expertise of my friends on the Doodle Kisses site, to see what they had to say about my photo.
I belong to a group there that focuses on photography…and there are some truly talented photogs from whom to learn. So I posted a request for help…and I got a lot of really great ideas. Even better, Camilla “couldn’t resist tinkering” and really fixed my flawed photo. Continue reading
I love this photo. I kind of think this one speaks for itself. Sam looks great, and he must be happy if he has a dripping wet face!
