Grocery Run!

With our fun new little gizmo, we are probably going to…well, I am probably going to…make a bunch of home movies. I think that I am going to make a page for them!

This one started off as an experiment to see if I could catch Luke doing his looking-out-the-back-window thing. Which is really cute. He’s adorable all the time, but I imagine that being behind our car, watching him looking at you would be pretty devastatingly cute. I wasn’t sure I had the right angle, so I moved the camera back up to the front. I did have it right the first time, though. I’ll try it with the camera in the back of the car again soon!

So here we have it, my second attempt at a home movie. These are fun to do!

In Search of Friendly Folk…

[singlepic id=721 w=300 h=300 float=left]Part of the quest on which we’ve embarked is to find, experience and share the great places we get to go with the doods. Oh, and take pictures, too! We always love to do that.

When we are figuring out where to go on our next adventure, we do what anyone else would do: we Google “dog friendly” and then see what we can come up with. Or we rely on word-of-mouth for recommendations. We did a combination of both for the fun day we had yesterday in Long Beach. Continue reading

It’s Fun to Make Friends on Twitter…UPDATED Go Steelers!

So I’m here at my desk at the office and I’m supposed to be working. But it’s Friday, and I. Don’t. Want. To.

Instead of dealing with the stuff on my desk, I’m messing around with Twitter. Way more fun. And I’m making some fun online friends. @Pistol_the_Pom posted that he (?) is editing photos and would anyone like one. Sure, I’m in! What are we doing? He just needs to know my favorite basketball team and he’ll do the rest. This is what he sent me. Continue reading

Snow Doodles!

[singlepic id=673 w=250 h=250 float=left]It’s hard to believe it’s almost the end of the year…again! We might be doing a lot of things for the last time in this year, but we can still find time for some new things, too!

The Doodles have never seen snow…not until we went hiking today! As with most of the things we do with the Doodles, this was fun! Well, Doodles are fun, so what would we expect? Doodles in snow: also fun! Continue reading

Sleepover & Breakfast with Tres Doodles

[singlepic id=477 w=320 h=240 float=left]Penny stayed the night with us last night. She’s Sam’s littermate and full sister (obviously) to both Sam and Luke. I love having her over and the Tres Doodles love being together. They play for hours on end! A few pictures to share before I head off to work! 🙂 Continue reading

Unflappable Doodles

[singlepic id=470 w=320 h=240 float=left]It’s so important for the Doodles to be well socialized. Which is to say, they need to be exposed to lots of different situations and experiences. I do try to get them out to new things on a regular basis. This week we tried a couple of new things: crossing the creek on our mountain trek, and Zoom Room . We also went to a local airport: Cable Airport. This is a pretty fun thing to do! The Doods got to see planes coming in and taking off. Want to know how much drama was involved in that? Zero. These dogs are so sound, it amazes me. They watched the planes going in and out…seemed curious, but were much more interested in when we might be going on our walk. I really like that you can walk all over the airport ( stay off the runway, please!) and look at the hangars, planes and generally have a nice walk all the way around.

This is a great place to take your dogs if you want to expose them to loud and unusual experiences. But Cable Airport also has a cool coffee shop with outdoor seating so you can have breakfast or lunch and watch the planes.

[singlepic id=472 w=320 h=240 float=right]I wasn’t able to get a shot of the Doodles inside a plane…but don’t think I’ve given up! I will post a picture of one or both of those dogs in someone’s plane at some point!!! 🙂

Zoom Zoom Doodles

[singlepic id=471 w=320 h=240 float=left]One of the challenges of having a super-smart dog like these Australian Labradoodles is that you have be creative and keep them mentally challenged. This is especially true of Sam. I can keep him physically exercised, but if he doesn’t get the mental challenges he craves, he just doesn’t burn off the same kind of energy. I’m not exactly sure how to describe the difference. I think it’s mostly the difference between being tired and being relaxed. He doesn’t really relax until he’s used up all his mental energy. Continue reading
